Tonight we are having a camp out in our backyard! I know, I know, it's COLD! Hopefully it won't be too bad. We are going to bundle up and bring out lots of blankets!
It all started with some lettuce and homemade salad dressing from our friends Chad and Abby:
here it is:
which led to hamburgers on the grill:
-And then the summertime food led to the camping out idea:
Anyway, thanks to Chad and Abby! If it weren't for you, we would probably be sleeping inside tonight! hahaaa!!!

School is out!
Madeline has had the most amazing year YET! She was not even ready for school to end. She had the most amazing teacher (Mrs. Wilson), who sees the kids for who they are, and helps them feel good about themselves! At the end of the year they were studying early american settlers and got to make a project. Madeline chose to make a diorama! Here it is:
Mike and Madeline had such a good time creating the diorama together! Nothin' like some good ol crafty school projects!
As for Sophia, she finished kindergarten and of course is a genius! She had an amazing time with her teacher Mrs. Pistorius! Here she is:
Sophia was sad to say goodbye, but luckily Mrs. Pistorius is our neighbor, so it won't be long before we run into her again!
As for me, I feel like i have a purpose now that the kids are home! We've been having lots of fun going to Splash valley, and today since it's cold I might take them to the YMCA to play. (we'll see... that means I would have to work out, and I'm feeling a little lazy this week!)
Oh, and as always, I love to share what I made for dinner!
Last night I made terriaki chicken and whole grain noodles with vegetables! I used pre-made sauce last night, but you can make your own with honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar! I marinated the chicken before hand, and baked it in the oven with whatever vegetables I had on hand, (broccoli, and asparagus) I tossed a little cilantro and green onion on the top, and squeezed lime juice over the top of everything! YUM! I swear the lime juice is the secret ingredient!
Sorry this post was kind of all over the map. Lots of things to talk about!
Thanks for reading!
