A piece of history in my home!

This weekend I got a new piano! Did I say new? i should have said it is new to ME! It's actually the opposite of new! It was formerly in the reception room at the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Kankakee. -but who knows where it was before that! It was made around 1870-1880! It is older than the Titanic! I love imagining the people who might have played it before me!

Here are a few pictures! The pictures really don't show all of the detail in it's full glory though. If anyone wants to check it out in real life you are so welcome to come over! It is totally worth seeing in real life!


The next step is getting it tuned! I've read that tuning these piano's is no easy job! Hopefully I can find someone willing to take it on... I'm not too worried about that quite yet though,  just so happy to have it in my dinning room for now!

    Thanks JoyAnna! They posted it was for sale on the "Wright in Kankakee" facebook page, and I have a friend that works there that helped me seal the deal!

    Beautiful! I love the contrast of the dark ornate wood against the bright simple yellow & white walls and maple colored floor. yippee
